Blinc’s new Digital Arts Training Academy Project, or DATA for short launches Summer 2019 with a 6 day course focusing on creating and delivering digital arts installations.
As part of the course, attendees will learn practical skills in working with projectors, building installations and generating content.
The six sessions will cover projection mapping software, multi projector setups, content creation, lighting, audio, designing & building installations, event planning and much more.
Over the project we will be exploring a range of tools to generate and display content including traditional art, VR, programming, 3D, digital design and procedural systems.
We will also be looking in detail at projectors and hardware including different types of projectors, lenses, cabling, installation methods and projection surfaces.
The event will conclude with a final projection installation and also offer opportunities to feature work at the blinc festival in October.
As founder of blinc, Joel provides a wealth of experience in terms of event planning, logistics and establishing large scale and small scale projection installations.
Rob has many years experience in working with digital media and multi projector indoor and outdoor events, touring theatre shows and delivering projection workshops.
Technologist, Charles Gershom is an experienced programmer and digital artist who specialises in virtual reality, immersive arts platforms, software development and technologically driven installation art work.
The Blinc DATA Project is completely free and also includes a small subsistence to help with travel or food. Because of this, we are asking everyone interested in applying to complete this application form honestly and fully to allow us to assess potential suitability to the project. It’s a fantastic opportunity but will require complete commitment to the course.
Applications are now closed. Thank you to all who applied. We will be in touch soon.
